This week I was working on an oil lamp based on the concept I made during 2nd week of this project. I'm fairly happy with the model (it seems fine except the glass), but I don't like the design itself. During this week I learned a lot about the process of recreating a 3D object from 2D picture. I realised how much was my concept missing and how quicker I could be with modelling if I spent more time on concepting back then.
Also, I find texturing and rendering glass super problematic. I learned how to use opacity in substance painter and it was ok, but when I tried to recreate the same effect in marmoset I was struggling. Next week I need to spend some time learning how to render glass in unreal, because right now my lamp globe looks more like mirror.
